Tenhi - Maaäet (2006)
Tenhi is a Finnish band formed in 1996, playing neofolk music which is truly the only one of its kind; a very minimalistic music with melancholic, cold and dark atmospheres…
Somehow, the rhythm of instrument lines follow the customs of modern rock music. The melodical instruments and vocals are however very heavily folk-influenced. The basic instrumentation of the band consists of acoustic guitar, bass and drums. Frequent additional instruments include piano, violin, viola and flute and less frequent didgeridoo, mouth harp, harmonium, cello, udu and synthesizer.
The lyrics are written in Finnish, and they follow the musical themes perfectly; esoteric moods, withdrawn feelings, fragility and the mystical side of nature…
The combination of visual arts and music came fluently as all members are into visual arts. The music and the visualizing fulfill each other to bring out the wanted auras.

The word “Tenhi” is an old Finnish word meaning a village elder, wise old man or seer.

Sear Bliss - Glory and Perdition (2004)
A great dark/black metal album with experimental overtones!
The Hungarians of SEAR BLISS have been in the scene for 12 years already and their debut “Phantoms” hails from the year 1996, back then making quite some waves, as they incorporated a trumpet into their melodic, yet still heavy Black Metal. Back then as today they have been a band that just would not fit into the common patterns and neither managed to break through commercially nor receive the acknowledgement as “cult” band, yet they never let these facts deter them and they keep on walking their own path, unaffected.
Sear Bliss - The Arcane Odyssey (2007)
Archaic dark metal from Hungarian blackness!
Welcome to a journey into space itself in which its divinity is formed by progressive components and blackened chaos: Sear Bliss’ “The Arcane Odyssey.” Externally mighty and internally filling, Hungary’s metallic frontrunners once again apply their signature formula of conjoining elegance and evil; two separate worlds that flawlessly connect into one special entity of supreme distinction. A galactic quest in which Sear Bliss rewrites the rules of experimental metal is found within “The Arcane Odyssey,” and the trip is very exciting, believe me.

Profanum - Profanum Aeternum - Eminence of Satanic Imperial Art (1997)
Excellent Black Metal Sans Guitars!
Their choice of instruments excludes anything with strings, relying instead on multi-layered synthesizers very neat, triggered drums and the usual vocal roars and screeches. It is not a new approach, Profanumum’s work harking back to that of Summoning and Dargaard, but absolutely devoid of the atmospheric guitar layer of the former and with the addition of drum beats that Dargaard, for the most part do not use.
Nostalgic!!

Arckanum - Kampen (1998)
The third full length album from Arckanum.
Yet another incomparable work of art from Shamaatae. Taken straight out of his soul which dwells deep inside the forests of eastern Sweden, not far from the norwegian border, in an area inhabited by wolves, bear and the primal spirits of the woods
Arckanum - Kostogher (1997)
The second LP released by Arckanum.
Starting up with a rather short intro (compared to the seemingly endless intros of "Fran Marder" and "Kampen") it is declared in medieval Swedish that you are about to embark on a journey into the deep forgotten crypts of the primal forest kingdom, and that is exactly what you will do.
RECOMMENDED!!
Arckanum - Fran Marder (1995)
The first LP from Arckanum from Sweden.
Arckanum has produced a special album, which could be seen as a landmark in nature-inspired black metal. Many bands have attempted this style since, but simply do not possess the natural songwriting magic of Shamaatae.
